MICRODERMABRASION

Beauty Benefits
Exfoliates the dry, damaged, outermost layers of skin cells to expose the healthy, radiant skin beneath. May help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, stretch marks, uneven skin tone and large pores.

How does microdermabrasion work?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive, exfoliating treatment that removes the dead outer layer of skin to reveal new and healthy skin cells. Microdermabrasion works by directing a stream of tiny crystals over the skins surface. This technique uses both pressure and suction to remove damaged skin cells resulting in a polished, revitalized complexion.

What does a microdermabrasion treatment cost?
Microdermabrasion pricing depends on the area being treated. Prices range from $100-$175 per session.

What can I expect during a microdermabrasion treatment?
You will lay down on a comfortable treatment table. Protective eye wear will shield you from the crystals. The face will be cleansed and toned. The aesthetician will adjust the vacuum strength and crystal flow settings according to your skin type and area(s) of concern. One or more passes over the skin may be performed depending on the condition being treated and the severity.

Does microdermabrasion hurt?
As the smooth hand piece glides over the skin you may feel a slight 'abrasion’ or 'scratching' sensation.

How long does a treatment take?
Microdermabrasion treatments take 30-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

What can I expect after a microdermabrasion treatment?
Following the treatment, the aesthetician will cleanse your skin of residual crystals and add moisturizer and SPF protection to your skin. Some clients may have minimal redness in the treated area. Sun exposure should be minimized after treatment for 5-7 days and an SPF of 30 or above should be worn.

Are there any side effects associated with microdermabrasion treatments?
Microdermabrasion treatments have limited or no downtime and most people resume daily activities immediately. Side effects may include temporary redness and increased sun sensitivity. The risks associated with microdermabrasion are minimal and mostly temporary when they do occur. The include: temporary discoloration of the treated area, minimal swelling and scarring.

How many treatments will I need?
While results may be noticed after one session, a series of 6 treatments, spaced 2-3 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.

What kind of microdermabrasion equipment do you use?
Raya MedSpa uses the Delphia IIe Plus microdermabrasion unit. This medical-grade microdermabrasion unit has superior crystal speed and suction power. Microdermabrasion is applied through a smooth stainless-steel hand piece. The hand piece. has two small holes in the end of it. Tiny abrasive crystals are forced OUT through one hole, while crystals and skin cell debris are sucked IN through the other.
