PHOTO FACIAL TREATMENT with IPL Technology

Beauty Benefits

Helps erase brown and red skin discolorations, sun damage, rosacea redness and broken blood vessels. Helps rejuvenate your skin.

What is IPL and how does a treatment work?
IPL is short for Intense Pulsed Light.  IPL technology employs a broad spectrum of light, as opposed to a single wavelength emitted by lasers.  IPL is a safe, non-surgical method for removing unwanted skin discolorations by applying therapeutic ‘pulsed-light’ to the surface of the skin. The therapeutic light is attracted to the pigment of skin discolorations. When the light reaches the pigment, it is converted to heat energy. The heat fragments skin discolorations into smaller pieces, thereby allowing the body to absorb and/or shed pigmented particles. IPL is a safe, non-invasive skin treatment that is effective for men and women.  IPL is an effective treatment for:

  • Benign brown spots
  • Rosacea redness and facial flushing
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Age spots
  • Broken blood vessels
  • Uneven skin tones
  • Acne

How much does an IPL treatment cost?
An IPL treatment of the face is priced at $279 per session.  All other body areas require a consultation for pricing.  All consultations are FREE.

What can I expect during an IPL treatment?
IPL treatment will take place in our office. Protective eyewear is worn to shield you from the bright light. A cold gel is applied to the skin. The IPL practitioner will apply brief pulses of therapeutic light to the skin through a smooth glass hand piece. The treatment can take several minutes to one hour depending on the size and number of areas being treated. Ice may be applied after the treatment.

How many IPL treatments will I need?
While individual results vary, optimal results are usually attained with a series of four to six IPL treatments.  Treatments are scheduled three to four weeks apart. Individual recommendations can be made during your free consultation and will take into account the number and severity of conditions you are treating.

What type of IPL technology do you use?
Raya MedSpa is proud to partner with the Lumenis® Corporation in offering this unique technology. The Lumenis® Quantum IPL system offers 560nm, 590nm and 640nm treatment wavelengths which enable it to handle a variety of skin types and conditions.

IPL is best Combined with?

For anti-aging benefits, IPL treatments are best combined with laser skin tightening.  Whereas IPL improves the ‘color’ of you complexion, laser skin tightening treatments work from the inside-out to help lift and smooth your skin.  When combined, these two unique treatments offer unparalleled anti-aging benefits. For optimal skin clarity and complexion blending, the IPL treatment is best combined with the SmoothPeel™ laser.

Patient Instructions
